We got 2 of these doors four months ago when we brought home our puppy chocolate lab. Originally, it did not order the seizure baseboard, and could escape in, so we bought, and were in business with the gates. I held off writing this review b / c I wanted to see how the gates locked. br / br / The other reviewers are right – you need two hands to open / close this gate and it is difficult for reviewers to understand how to use it. The noise problem is easily solved by pressingdown. I think that would be the only negative I have for this port. br / br / All the rest is fabulous, and I would definitely buy again. We were originally hoping the doors would last until we had children (which a few years) – but our laboratory has taken to their misuse, and while they governed well, we probably need to replace. They look great, and we like to be able to open and close without having a bad gate laying around. They have become very easy for us to use(With two hands). We can step on them (we are both tall) without any problem, and until yesterday, they kept the dog contained. We (the dog), love that you can see through the mesh to those in the room. br / br / The reason I gave 4 stars is the gate duration. I know this does not refer to how children will abuse the gate – but it speaks to the products and processes. Our dog has chewed the bottom of the gate. He has razor sharp teeth and scored only through 'board in one or two places. The important thing is that lately it is now 60 pounds and try to jump the gate. And yes, it does come apart under the weight much, but it comes apart in a way that you can put together without having it ruined (the gate slides into the handle). He broke down the gate 3 times and each time its a quick fix. br / br / I would definitely recommend as a pet gate and I buy these again when we have kids!
