If you saw "Eye of the Needle" (1981), then you will probably like this movie because they are both good adaptations of novels by Ken Follett. However, this was a mini-series on TV so it was not much thought put into it as if it were a movie made for the theater. However, the film was made in Tunisia. br / br / David Soul is cast as Alex Wolff, who fits the description of the book pretty well. Robert Culp is comfortable as General Rommel. br / br / You look real hard at the creditsto see that Season Hubley plays Elena Fontana. br / br / My favorite surprise was seeing Richard Gibson playing a British officer named Captain Newman and speaking with a British accent. As I remember it like Otto Flick (Flick of the Gestapo) in "'Allo Allo'" (1984) [TV-Series 1984-1992] br / br / I can see the "R rating, as there are a lot of bold strokes of men and women, and women and men, and women and women.

Excellent take on the book. – Melody –
They did a great job with this film is not easy moving a story from book to screen. David Soul did a great job as Alex Wolff. Its mix of bad boy and a romantic, were very well done and realistic. Cliff Robertson was also great, as well as the location for the shooting. Some type of spy films tend to get boring for me, but casting this as a great history has made anything but boring. It 's a long movie, 3 hours, but because the film is so good, time flies very quickly.It 's definitely a movie you will watch more than once. In fact, only one of the few films I watch repeatedly 3 hours. In my opinion, David Soul was the largest asset of the film.

Key to Rebecca – –
I thought the TV version did not do justice to the book, or for character development. Producers should have stuck to the book. Cliff Roberton was very good and so is Season Hubley, although his character in the book is much more interesting and complex.

So where is the DVD release? – Mary Ellison – USA
I've been waiting and waiting. I really want to get the DVD, because 'I have replaced the tapes that were too worn or eaten by car from VHS.
