So, I'm a nut John Denver. The same is true when it comes to Elvis, CCR, Steely Dan and catalog But Denver is the most elusive of all. Its current catalog of music ranging from cool remix of the 21st century all the way to echo-chamber, choked master CD was created in 1987. Because I'm a stickler for sound quality, I will give all the fans of Denver a quick lesson in the history remastering of the catalog of JD … br / br / There are 3 distinct periods remastering of the music of John Denver on CD. I knowThis is because, being a stickler for high quality audio, I made a lot of research of liner notes and sources online to find out when, where and by whom was John Denver Catalog remastered.br / BR / 1. ) 1987-1991. This is the first time that the music of John Denver was recorded on CD, and with few exceptions, they sound terrible. The more acoustic sound better than those with lush string orchestra, but still not great. Without adequate mastery, those strings into a great confusion ofsound. If you're not a completist, I urge you to stay away from any CD originally released in this period.br time / br / 2.) 1996-2001. This is the second period, in which the music of John was given a much-needed reform. Unfortunately, it was not the entire catalog, but also several box sets, single-disc compilation, and the remaining albums that were oerlooked the first time around. Fortunately for those albums that I have passed over in the 80s, because those made during this period of sound measurementbetter (Spirit, JD, and Autograph). Almost every disc burned in this period was done by the team of Paul Williams, Bll Lacey and Mike Hartry. Their names usually can be found in the booklet. These CDs br / br / 3.) 2004-2008. This is the newest and best period Remasters JD. This has seen new versions of Back Home Again, Greatest Hits, Love Songs, The Essential, and a handful of others. This is hands-down the best sounding Denver we've ever had. Not a huge step forwardRemasters by the previous, but is evident. Comparing the 1990 version of Back Home Again with the 2005 edition will be revealed surprising results. Preview the new first, so you can realize how much you hate the 1990 version. As of this writing, the current period of release is made by the team of remastering by Bob Irwin, Vic Anesini, and Andreas Meyer. Vic and Adreas swiched get out occasionally, but Bob Irwin is produer, and mix-master on each release Denver from 2005 topresent. He is well known in the music community for having restored much of the old jazz masters at Columbia in their Legacy label.br / br / With regard to this set of CD is concerned, the sound is superb. You might have some quibbles about "Why not include this song or that song?" But hey, get over it. The tracks are probably the cleanest I never managed to achieve. If some new technology arrives for the remastering, then it could sound better, but I guess only marginally. If youseeking a full of JD, but do not want to jump with both feet, then get this set. This is the best shot for your dollar, with the best sound, and 2 discs are really full of music. br / br / If you want to go a bit 'deeper, then I highly recommend 4-disc box along the country roads collection since 1997. Why is this period 2 mastering, the sound is not as clean as the essential, but it's still pretty good. Unless you're doing critical listening, thecasual listener probably will not notice a difference.br / br / If 2 or 4 disks seem too daunting for you, then the 2004 single-disc final All-Time Greatest Hits is the way to go. This is a 4-track bonus disc with a couple rare tracks, but this is only about $ 8 on Amazon.br / br / So, there you go … JD a lesson in print for the fan serious, and a recommendation for fans at every price level. Good luck and enjoy the music.
